Can not complete setup for Measurement studio or any of its componet works

While installing Measurement studio or VC++ components works, the system required service pack 3 or later for Visual Studio 6 I am using.

After installing the service pack the system still returns the same error message. I even installed the latest service pack from the Microsoft websise, but the Measurement studio setup still experience the same problem.

What do I need to do to solve this error message?

What do you see if you look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\6.0\ServicePacks key in the registry? You should see a string key called "(Default)" that is not set, a DWORD key called "latest" whose value is the version of the service pack that you installed, and a string "sp?" key whose value is empty and the ? in the key name is the version of the service pack that you installed. For example, if you installed SP3, you should see that the "latest" key has a value of 0x00000003 and a "sp3" key whose value is empty. This is the information that the installer looks at to determine what service pack is installed, so please take a look at this in the registry of your system and post what you find. Thanks.

Also could you tell us the version of Measurement Studio you are using? This was a known problem in version 1.0 that should have been fixed.

I think you have a copy of the 1.0 version of Measurement Studio. This was a known issue in that version that was fixed in newer versions. You can still get this version to install by adding a string registry value named "sp3" to the same registry key as the sp4 and sp5 values in your attached file.

However, I would recommend requesting an evaluation copy of a newer version of Measurement Studio for Visual C++ 6 (click here then choose "Evaluation Software") or joining our public beta of the next version of Measurement Studio (click here then choose Measurement Studio Technology Preview Program) to learn about the latest features of Measurement Studio.

I am working with some of my company's legacy software. that needs to be modified.  I found this thread as I had encountered the same problem with installing MS 1.0 ith Visual Studio 6. Given this thread and another similar one, I was able to resolve this issue where it no longer states that service pack 3 must be installed. I installed SP6 and modified the registry. Now I receive Error 1722 for the Installer. I searched the NI website and threads discussing Error 1722 and have set permission levels to full control and turned off virus checkers, rebooted, and  without succes in the MS 1.0 installation. Any addition suggestions? I'm running XP SP3.
