I am using a PCI-7342 controller and MID-7602 driver to control a stepper (no feedback). I configured the 7342 with the Automation Explorer and tried to start a relative motion on the stepper but there is no current on the stepper and the Automation Explorer reports a correct motion. No error in MAX but the fault LED is red and the inhibit LED is yellow on the 7602. The LEDs were on when the device was switched on without any command from the 7342.
Can someone please explain why there is no current on the stepper?

I connected the inhibit input of the axis to +5V (there should be a pull up resistor in the 7602) and checked the Enable switch. Still inhibit LED on. The MAX says the Inhibit Input is disabled. And MAX doesen't report ony failures on the axis.

Solved the problem. The Inhibit Output must be enabled in MAX otherwise the 7602 Inhibits the axis. I don't understand why the Inhibit Output can be disabled.
