Planning to install a PXIe-6738 in to a PXIe-8861 Linux RT chassis and confused on the ground connections. The intent is to use the board to drive analog inputs on a controller which also has high current (up to 20A) drivers. Can the ground of the PXIe-6738 board be referenced to the analog ground of my controller or is it internally grounded through the PXI chassis?

Use the dedicated AGND pins of the 6738 to connect with the external equipment.

 

Can you share more info on your high current driver controller?
