Hi all,
I am measuring the pressure on a high speed craft using 20 PCB pressure sensors (ICP sensor model 113B28) having the following specs:
Range 50 kPa
Sensitivity 14.5mV/kPa
Constant current excitation 2 to 20mA (20 to 30 VDC)
Output bias voltage 8 to 14 VDC
The sensor connects to a constant current signal conditioner using either a standard coaxial or 2-wire cable.
Apologies for the stupid question, but is it possible to use the same cable for supplying the constant current power and alos receiving the low voltage signal output?
Which modules would you suggest on using? We have an NI 9205 and an NI 9215 module which together provide 20 differentials but I am not sure if these modules can supply a constant current input?
What about NI 9234?
Thank you for your time.
Best regards,
Josef

Yes, all the world is using the same cable for powering and reading the sensor. 😄
One of the major design targets and/or goals , besides a low impedance ...
But for an advice for an appropriate module some more information is needed:
Type of test, needed bandwidth, traceablility, needed accuracy, simultanious readings needed..........
I really would call NI, and spend 1h with the engineer.
However feel free to ask more questions:)
