Hi. I am trying to rebuild my old 96 channel DAQ system for multichannel in vivo elctrophysiology recording.
The sensors were originally connected to a computer via 100-pin cables (NI R10050. see the attached picture). Currently, I lost the computer with NI DAQ card, and don't know the exact model number.
As I found out, NI PXI-6508 and NI 6509 (PCI 6509 or USB NI-6509) is compatible with my 100-pin cable. Do you know difference (or details) across NI 6508 and 6509 DAQ card? Are they just same in function, basically?

Hey DrKBaek,
Thanks for asking your question. It's always good to ask a question if it is unclear from documenteation.
I've looked up the documentation on the cards and linked them below for reference.
NI 6509 User Guide and Specifications - http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/372117c.pdf#page=25
NI USB-6509 User Guide and Specifications - http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/372136a.pdf#page=25
PCI-DIO-96/PXI-6508/PCI-6503 User Manual - http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374938b.pdf#page=36
From what I can see, it looks like the 6509 looks like an newer model to replace the 6508. If you want to get into the minor details I would look through each devices specifications listed above.
In addition, I might reach out to our technical sales deparment who are more familiar with trying to help customers spec out parts to buy. If you'd like to get in touch with them feel free to call (877) 387-0015.
