I am trying to develop my program on my laptop since I do not have the actual computer for the project yet. Unfortunately, I cannot use a NI-DAQmx Simulated Device since no NI-DAQmx devices appear under my devices and interfaces (see attached). I have tried the latest version and backed down to a previous version to no avail. Is it because I'm using a laptop that doesn't have any physical PCI slots? This is the same laptop that I cannot get the NI-CAN stuff to work on (gave up on that for now).
This is really frustrating since I cannot haul a desktop around to make changes at a customer's facility, especially when I have to fly there!
Any clues would be appreciated.
Dell Vostro 1510, Windows XP (all recent service packs, etc.)
DAQmx vers. 8.8 (tried 9.1)

Hello,
Looking at the screenshot, I noticed that you don't have NI-DAQmx ADE (Application Development Environment) Support or NI-DAQmx MAX Configuration. During installation of NI-DAQmx, adding support for LabVIEW 8.6 and MAX will be required for the driver to function correctly in these environments. Please review the installation process and include these features when prompted by the installation wizard. If you still observe the same issue, provide us with an update.
