How do I get a PCI-6025E to show up under Traditional NIDAQ Devices in MAX?

I am trying to use traditional DAQ vi's to drive two PCI-6025E cards in my computer. I cannot figure out how to configure them with MAX 3.0. The cards only show up under NI-DAQmx Devices. There are no Traditioanal NI-DAQ Devices in the configuration tree as shown in the DAQ Quick Start Guide.

Hello:

Since the 6025E is supported by Traditional DAQ, it should be showing up in MAX under Traditional DAQ Devices.

Are you logged in as administrator? You will need to be an administrator and press the "F5" key in MAX to refresh the view and this should make the board visible. Once it is visible, you should be able to access it with any user account.

If that doesn't solve your problem then ensure that you installed Traditional DAQ as well by expanding the Software view in MAX and looking for "Traditional DAQ." It should be the same version (7.0 or 7.1) as your DAQmx is. If it isn't there, then re-run the DAQ setup and select to install Traditional DAQ.

Good Luck!

I'm having the same issue.  I had the 6025E showing up as a traditional DAQ device (v7.5 driver) in MAX.  I installed DAQmx (v9.2.3) and my 6025E switched to a DAQmx device.  I tried reinstalling Traditional DAQ with no luck.  I also tried removing Traditional DAQ and DAQmx and then installing DAQmx first but that didn't solve it.  The only way I can get the 6025E to show up under Traditional DAQ is by removing DAQmx.  I had this setup working properly on another computer (DAQmx device and 6025E as a Traditional DAQ device) but don't recall how I was able to do it.

Just a wild guess...

I had the opposite problem quite a while ago- using a device with Traditional NI-DAQ made it disappear from NI-DAQmx. The solution that I remember was to to to MAX, right-click the device in the Traditional device list and select Reset.

I see in MAX that you can right-click a device under NI-DAQmx and select Reset as well. Maybe...

Thanks for the reply.  Reset doesn't seem to work.  The 6025E still shows up as a DAQmx device.  Somehow the DAQmx driver is forcing it to be a DAQmx device.  I can't switch it back to a Traditional DAQ device unless I remove DAQmx, but I need it for a USB-6343.  I've since tried reinstalling most of the NI software.  Now I'm at MAX V5, DAQmx V9.4, and Traditional DAQ v7.5.  If I try to update the driver in Device Manager, I see 2 compatible devices.  I assume one is traditional and one is DAQmx but it doesn't seem to help.  Somehow, it always wants to default to the DAQmx driver.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks.

This is a known issue with the Traditional NI-DAQ 7.5 beta driver.  On some systems, if NI-DAQmx is also installed you may not be able to use Traditional NI-DAQ devices.

Traditional NI-DAQ is a depricated driver that is no longer actively supported..  The beta 7.5 version was only intended for customers who had to upgrade to Windows Vista in order to allow them to continue using their systems while they upgraded their code to DAQmx.

I would strongly recommending porting your Tradtional NI-DAQ code to NI-DAQmx.  If that isn't possible, you'll need to downgrade your system to Windows XP and use Traditional NI-DAQ 7.4.4 instead.
