Dear all,
I am trying to connect some thermocouples to my existing NI DAQ USB-6225. The thermocouple is Type K probe see the link: https://www.mcmaster.com/#thermocouples/=1ajggrg
I am wondering if it is possible to do so. And if possible, what kind of connector should I use? And are there any other hardware I need to purchase?
I am new to hardware so I really appreciate all the help. Thank you very much.

Hanglin,
Short answer: yes you can simply connect these TCs to your USB device.
Long answer: using TCs with these USB devices is not recommended due to the fact that TCs are non linear devices and the USB expects linear signals as inputs. Basically you will get readings but with a lot of noise or unexpected measurements. I would recommend getting a device such as this one.

Hi Tuco100s,
Thank you very much for your reply! It is very helpful. However I see the device you recommended seems to be just for one thermocouple. Is there a similar device that allows multiple theromocouples?
Thank you very much.

You could look into a NI-9210 (4ch thermocouple module, 24-bit) using a cDAQ-9171 Single-Slot USB Carrier.

Thank you very much! I will purchase those.
