Dear all,

I have a PCI-6221 interface board connected to a TBX-68 connector block. I found once a drawing which shows me every connection on my connector block for every analog input tasks. I don't find this option now. May somebody decribe me how I can find this again?

Hello,

You can access the information of each specific device within the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) by expanding the “Devices and Interfaces” menu and right clicking on the DAQ device in question. From here you can choose to select the device pin-outs which will allow you to see how the device can be wired up. You can also select Help >> online documentation which will provide a specifications document for your device.

Dear Andrew,

Your solution gives me the connection to the PCI-6221 interface board only.

Unfortunately, I have a TBX-68 connector block connected to the PCI-6221. There was a much more advanced solution for the TBX-68 wiring up then a simple drawing. I saw a interactive wiring up diagram which implements the new tasks and in the tasks the analog inputs and changes the diagram by setting up the task with the channels. I only forgot how to find it again … .

Hello,

Apologies I had misinterpreted your question. In order to see the wiring diagrams you will have to create a task. Firstly you will have to configure the terminal block to your card, this can be done by right clicking the card under the devices and interfaces tab and selecting “Properties”. Once this is done new window will pop up and from there you click on the accessories tab and select the TBX from the drop down menu.

Then to create the task select your PCI card, right-click and select “create task” follow the wizard to create you task. Once these is done click on “Data Neighbourhood” menu and select NI-DAQmx Tasks and click on your task and look at the bottom of the right hand tab and select “Connection Diagram”.

Hello,

unfortunately, I can find the "Connection Diagram" button on the right hand tab. What is wrong?

You've said "Then to create the task select your PCI card, right-click and select “create task” follow the wizard to create you task. Once these is done click on “Data Neighbourhood” menu and select NI-DAQmx Tasks and click on your task and look at the bottom of the right hand tab and select “Connection Diagram”." But when I click on the task there is only a help discription on the right hand site which doesn't really help to find the connection diagram.

Best regards

Stephan

You are showing a digital out task - not an analog input like your subject. I don't believe there is support for digital connection diagrams. Click on your AI task. Also, what version of DAQmx are you using?

The tasks shouldn't be the matter as for analog out and analog in tasks the connection diagram do not appear, too. By the way, even a digital out task should have a connection diagram or where do you want to send the signal to?

I think the DAQmx Version is the 4.6. But I'm not sure.

The tasks do matter since not all of them have wiring options (i.e. RSE, Diff) and there is no such thing as DAQmx 4.6. Just expand the software listing in MAX.

The pin numbers when you right click on the device and select 'Device Pinouts' are the pin numbers on the terminal block board. For example, Port 0, Line 4 on a PCI-6250 is pin 19. Wire to pin 19 on the terminal block.
