NI 9215 input signal voltage

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi all,

i have tried to test NI 9215 BNC in MAX. And the data acquisition ran without input signal.

The voltage for all 4 channels i have read is about 10.4Volt.

Is that right? I have thought, the voltage should be 0 without input signal.

best regards

If you leave the input open, it will tend to float to one of rails.  In my experience it is almost always the upper one, hence the 10.4 volts.

If you short the input you will certainly get 0 volts.  You will probably get 0 or close to if you put a resistor across the input.
