NI 9218 full bridge input signal level

Solved!
Go to solution

I want to use the NI 9218 to connect to a load cell with 2mV/V output. The 9128 data sheet refers to measurement range minimum 21.7mV/V under the full bridge characteristics heading. Does this mean I need a pre-amp to increase the signal level?

Thanks

The 9218 input range is ~22mV/V  (+-65mV input range @~3V bridge supply)

Since the resolution is quite high, you can use it for your bridge sensor.

However you should check if the bridge is a piezo resistive one (these can be sensitive to changed bridge supplies)   and  a valid calibration for an exitation of 3V .  But you mentioned a sensitivity in mV/V ... good indicator for a bridge supply independency 😉
