NI-PAL error when installing NI-DAQmx 9.3

I am installing ni-daqmx 16 from the disc and it keeps failing with the error;

Could Not Open Key:

hkey_local......\eVENTlOG\aPPLICATION\nipalu

vERIFY YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT ACCESS.

So I have run the installer as admin, and gotten that.  When I run this using regedit (as admin), I am still unable to change owners and permissions.  Any idea how to get through that

Hi @jmaslek,

First thing to double check is that LabVIEW 2016 is already installed on your computer. I would then recommend a force reinstall of your DAQmx16 driver. Sometimes the download of DAQmx might become corrupted for whatever reason. This could be causing your issue. A description of how to perform a force reinstall can be found at the link below.

Force Reinstall of NI Software:

Hope this helps!

So will it not work if I am using 2013?

LabVIEW 2013 is fine as well. For DAQmx 16.0 to install LabVIEW API support, you just need LabVIEW 2013 - 2016.

You mentioned using regedit. When you go to that key and right-click to view permissions, what permissions is the Administrator granted?
