NIDAQmx 9.7 device list not updating

Hi,

After un-installing NIDAQmx 9.5 and installing NIDAQmx 9.7 (NIDAQ970f0) - the NI devices that were already connected to my PC correctly appear in the NI MAX Explorer under the "Devices and Interfaces" tree view correctly. However if I remove a device or add another device, the tree view is NOT updated to reflect the new harwdare configuration. Closing and reopening NI MAX Explorer does not solve the problem. Rebooting the PC does not solve the problem. I am running Win7.

I un-installed NIDAQmx 9.7 and installed NIDAQmx 9.6 (NIDAQ961f1) and everything worked correctly. Suspecting a possible installation error, I uninstalled NIDAQmx 9.6 and re-installed NIDAQmx 9.7 again and the problem was back again. I see it on 2 different machines now... I reverted back to NIDAQmx 9.6 for the time being.

Thanks,

It sounds like the device loader service may not be running.  I would recommend following the steps listed here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0819391CA91B3EB38625731D00024649

Hi,

Just giving my 2 cents idea. Can you check NI Device Loader and NI Configuration Manager services whether they are running or not ?

I really don't like LabView with a lot of services running when starting up my PC. What I did, I remove all the services except those two. Whenever I want to use LabView, I just start those two services and it takes some times to detect in NI MAX.

Hope it helps.

Haye
