NIDaqMxBase not fully Universal Binary?

What is the status of current nidaqmxbase for Mac (version 2.1), is it really completely universal binary? As others have noted, there is an error when loading the libraries:

Macintosh HD:Library:Frameworks:nidaqmxbaselv.framework
2007-01-17 09:49:51.435 java[1322] CFLog (21): Error loading /Library/Frameworks/LabVIEW 8.2 Runtime.framework/resource/nitaglv.framework/nitaglv: error code 4, error number 0 (no suitable image found. Did find:
/Library/Frameworks/LabVIEW 8.2 Runtime.framework/resource/nitaglv.framework/nitaglv: mach-o, but wrong architecture)

I'm building a Java app with my own JNI wrapper and it does work as it should, but the error message tells me things are not optimal here. Maybe I'm picky, but when I build commercial grade stuff I must figure out what this means and if/how it might affect my system.

Any information from the gurus that can clarify this?

Cheers,

Per Ejeklint

Hi Per Ejeklint,

This is a known issue that will be resolved in a future release of DAQmx Base. As you noted, your code still works correctly but I understand that the error messages are an annoyance. As for what causes it, from my understanding it is that you are using an Intel Mac. The code still works and Intel Macs are definitely supported, but DAQmx Base has to support older Macs as well as the current ones with Intel processors. This poses its own unique problems, which should be fixed out in the future.

We're always looking for feedback on DAQmx Base (and all of our products) I encourage you to put in a Product Suggestion at www.ni.com/contact and choose "Feedback". This goes straight to the R&D group and is a great way to voice your concerns, and let R&D know that this is an issue for customers.

Hope this helps,
Andrew S
