SCXI Wiring solutions

This goes outside the chassis, but still must be something everyone has dealt with at one point or another.

My 'hydra'.  The mess of wires entering the DAQ area and then strung to the modules.  What a trainwreck!  I have an SCXI-1001 Chassis with 6 modules in it (4 1102 thermo and 2-16ch switch). 220-odd wires all snaking their way from their respective thermocouples to these modules.

We've tried installing a terminal box on the wall and running large multi-cable from the wall box to the module, and that looks cleaner for the first, say two tests.  As soon as the configuration of testing changes, or there appears to be a dead channel, and everything gets unscrewed, it all goes downhill.  Not to mention the wiring they got is in something like 40 channel (80 conductor) runs so you have 8 channels split from one module to the other.  They didn't take into account that things are broken up into 32 and 16 and just divided the total channels by 40, so there's not enough extra run to just kill 8 channels per run and live with it--No, no, I need every channel in every 40-channel run.

So I have this disgusting mess of wires that make it impossible to work on my modules.  I assume that others have dealt with a large number of channels and found a solution to tidy up the wiring, can anyone provide some advice?

Dear Ralph,

I really can't think of a perfect solution for this wiring problem. However, a good tip for you would be to bundle your wires and use some wire color coding.
