Simple DC relay connection to NI-9205 input

This should be rudimentary. Using the NI-9205 analog module.
I have a simple low voltage relay in a control system cabinet.  My CRIO is powered elsewhere by its own 24vDC powersupply.
This relay acts a clock counter or sorts. Relay closes after a process, +5v dc pass through relay to logger.
Logger, in this case CRIO with 9205 just accepts the input, which is desired at low voltage open relay (open circuit) to +5 v dc closed relay.
Been having some problems with the Channel Config as I am used to more simple DAQ units that will read this sort of circuit as a DIFFERENTIAL voltage across +-.
But the 9205 is different and the various configs on grounding are confusing.
As the below image shows, would this be a correct configuration for the signal on RSE to the 9205.
I want to ensure that the open relay voltage stays near 0.00V (I think that .2 v is capable on the line when using a DMM) and then ensure that the 5.00 V dc comes through on Closed Relay.

Is going to be as simple as +V to AI#(+), - (DC Ground little 5v dc Powersupply) to COM on 9205?
That COM is referenced to - Vdc of the Powersupply running the CRIO->9205 unit.
This would work though?
