Hello,
USB-6259 is found working fine by Windows Device Manager, but is not recognized by MAX or any other NI applications.
NI Device Monitor does not detect it as I plug it in.
I also have an IMAQ device in the system and it is recognized well by MAX.
I've tried several uninstall-reinstall cycles for all NI applications without sucess.
Have checked NI Device Loader, reported as Started.
Have check the device with another system running Windows XP, it was recognized by the system.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply.
I downloaded and installed the latest versions of all the drivers and applications.

What I meant was that I had already installed the latest versions of them and it didn't work.
USB-6259 is not recognized by MAX and any other NI applications on that PC, while it is recognized on another PC(Win XP) with even older version applications.
I have tried the older and the newer versions on the Win7 pc, but it didn't work with both.

Hi Yoocharn,
Verify the NI Device Loader is starting as described here. Hopefully this helps!

As I wrote above, I had checked the NI Device Loader and it is reported as Started. However, MAX does not recognize it, but does recognize an IMAQ device.
Thank you though.

Same problem here but with XP on a Dell D600 laptop. As a check, the exact same configuration works fine on a rackmount computer, both systems using LabView8.5.
In addition, when uninstalling the 6259 in Control panel/System/Hardware there is a BSOD with problem in nipalk.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
0X50 0XFF0F0008 0X0 0XF82E9705 0X0
Also, if the device is turned off or the USB lead disconnected there's another BSOD
STOP 0X7E 0XC0000005 0X0 0XF8AC9AA0 0XF8AX979C
On the laptop the BIOS has been updated to the most recent available. No change. The MAX configuration files have been deleted. No change. Installing NIDAQ8.9 made no difference. The device loader is up and running as shown in the Administration.
I have had previous experience of conflicts/problems using equipment on laptops so my suspicions are leaning in that direction.
Any thoughts? Anyone else managed to get the device running on a D600 laptop?

Hi Andy,
Can you get a kernel memory dump whenever your system crashes? Preferably one for each way this behavior occurs to determine if it is the same cause. Does this behavior happen everytime as described in your last post? Did you have any issues installing the software? Have you ever used any hardware with this laptop?

Hi
I was trying to install the equipment for someone else to use and, to the best of my knowledge, it's never been used with any other NI equipment.
The software installed with no problem.
I'll get some kernel dumps soon,
As for the repeated behaviour, the computer always crashed if the 6259 was turned off or the USB lead removed. If I remember correctly, the device could be uninstalled just with the LV8.5 install disk used, but if the software was uninstalled it crashed part way through with the nipalk.sys problem. On rebooting there were still programs to be uninstalled. Installing NIDAQmx8.9 on top of the LV8.5 install gave the problem that it crashed when trying to uninstall the device.
Thanks
Andy
