Hi, I am playing with an NI USB-6008 for the first time, I have only the unit and the USB cable and I have downloaded and installed the NI-DAQ Base 3.4 for MAC OSX. I also have MATLAB r2009b installed. I have a small knowledge of MATLAB but nothing of the NI equipment.
With so many different programs I am a little lost as to where to start reading how to work and program this thing! If someone could point me in the right direction, it would help me a great deal as I am feeling slightly overwhelmed and don't know where to start.
I am not asking for someone to tell me how to do it, I just want some guidance in where to start! I have an AC signal on a wire representing a DTMF signal. The steps I am thinking to do are as follows.
1. Input the signal into the DAQ
2. Record the signal
(Can I program the DAQ to filter / Fast Fourier transform)
3. Input the recorded signal into MATLAB to enable me to FFT the data
(If I can get the data from the wire into Matlab then I will be able to work with it as I have a rough working knowledge of MATLAB, but if I could do this simply using the DAQ then where do I look for help)
It have a hunch there is a million and one ways to do this with different software/configurations, but I am not entirely sure where to start to learn.
