Read the data sheet.  It will clearly state a 10V range for the DAQ.  If you want to measure a 230V signal, you need to divide it down into the 10V range.  I would also recommend an op amp to act as a buffer between your divider and the DAQ.  If you do not know how to divide your signal down, go find an EE student.

To SAFELY measure a 230 V AC line you need a lot more than just a divider.

You should use a method which provides isolation, typically a transformer. Depending on the bandwidth required, other types of transducers may be better.  In addition you need to provide protection against transient voltages on the power line. Consider the effects of lightning striking near the line or an automibile hitting a pole and dropping a 38 kV line across the 7.2 kV distribution line feeding your 230 V supply. The amount and types of protection needed depend on the details of your system.

If you try to use a simple voltage divider, someone could get injured or killed and there is a good chance the USB-6009 and the computer will be destroyed.

Do it the right way.

If you do connect 230VAC to the 6008, take video because it's going to be quite a light show.

I have a differential probe in the lab for applications like this.
