Did you mean:

acquire signal from kistler type 5691A1

Hi,

I apologise if the question might be stupid, I'm quite new on Labview and I still need to understand many things.

I read several topics in the forum but I have not found an answer to this:

I'd like to pilot (open connection, stream data, reset and acquire) from 2 kistler forceplates by means of a kistler DAQ type 5691A1. I'm stuck with this DAQ because it is already available in the LAB.

Anyone can help me with this problem? is something worth trying?

Thanks

Roberto

Well, a quick look at the datasheet tells that Kistler provide a 'dataserver.dll' LabVIEW (with windowsOS) can use to communicate with that system.

I would do a search at the NI-driver-network (and the rest of the the world 😉 ) if someone already wrote a LabVIEW wrapper.

And you should pick up the phone and ask Kistler 🙂  maybe they have something, or (quite often) they can name you a customer (unsiversity??) that already has solved this problem.

To extend the search in the LabVIEW community you could also ask in the LabVIEW and Instrument Control board, but you should add comment and link to one (this?) thread, so the answers a collected.

Hi,
Thanks for the answer!
I tried with NI-driver-network (and google known world) in the past week, no luck.
I e-mailed Kistler, let's see what they tell.
I will also search the dll dataserver path 😉
Hopefully someone already got his hands on this problem before me 🙂

Hi everyone!

got Kistler answer, it was fast and kind. They said that dataserver DLL is the solution (as expected) but apparently they do not have an experienced labview programmer 😞 .

They sent me several screenshoot they received from a costumer working on the same issue sometime ago.

Honestly I'm clueless, how should I start?
dataserver.dll has documentation, there is a "Quick Start with Visual C++"  and a "Quick Start with Visual Basic" should I read those? (see attachment).

I tried using "Call Library Function Node" but I get stuck (see attach "dataserverdll-call library function.jpg") how should I proceed from there?

Sorry for the newby questions...

I searched a lot but I was not able to find a solution.

All suggestions are welcome!
