The driver can actually be installed anyplace you want. If the installer from the vendor did not place it in any LabVIEW folder, you could move it. Some typical locations would be in the user.lib folder or vi.lib\addons. You might have to manually update the palette. Open the LabVIEW help and look up 'palette' to get instructions on how to add files/folders to a palette.
