daqmx 8.9 installer problems

I'm having trouble building an installer for my application including DAQmx 8.9.  I've included an EXE, LV Runtime (8.6), MAX 4.6 and NI-DAQmx 8.9.  If I don't include DAQmx 8.9 it builds fine, but the EXE does not find required files (one particular DLL especially).  When I do include DAQmx 8.9 the installer never finishes building.  I've had other installers take a long time to build, so I let this one continue building for up to 24 hrs with no success.  I've tried on a couple of different PCs (Vista AND XP) with the same results.  I've tried different levels of DAQmx (Full, Runtime, Runtime5 etc.) with the same results.  I did not have this problem with the previous version of DAQmx (albeit the build did take a LONG time).  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling DAQmx 8.9 and no success.  I tried repairing DAQmx 8.9 and no success.  Anyone else having this problem?

Hey,

I should try to not include MAX in the install, as it is installed by the DAQmx Driver and you could be having a conflict occur.  You may also want to double check that your exe is working on your build machine. You could also try taking your exe over to another machine with same version of LabVIEW and DAQmx and try to build an installer from there.  I tried to reproduce this on my machine with LabVIEW 8.6.1, DAQmx 8.9 and was unsuccessful.

Thanks for the suggestions. I removed MAX from the list of additional installers. I made sure the EXE was working on the same machine (would it not fail on another machine where I haven't installed DAQmx 8.9 ?) and I tried building the installer from scratch on another machine. Same results as before. I'm stumped and a bit worried: I need to deliver an installer shortly.

Please correct me if I am wrong but it looks like you have contacted NI support with this issue and I would recommend you continue down that avenue and just post the answer here when you resolve it so other people do not run into this same issue.  Have a great day!
