myDAQ speed

I have a LabVIEW 2010 program using a timed loop that resets the pulse width of the counter output. Since I cannot change the pulse width on the fly, this requires stopping the task, resetting the pulse width, and restarting the task. I have been doing it successfully with 50 ms periods for the timed loop with SensorDAQs, but switching to the myDAQ gives many late cycles unless I increase the period.. The difference seems to be mostly in the time required to start the task (about 2.5 ms on the myDAQ vs. 2.0 ms on the SensorDAQ). Unfortunately, even a small increase over the 50 ms period ruins the "neat" mathematics of 20 cycles/second unless I increase the period all the way to 80 or 100 ms--but then things start to look really jumpy. Is the myDAQ really slower than the SensorDAQ?  (My myDAQ is fairly old--SN 153F983.)

You can check the specifications of the myDAQ here and then compare then with the ones of your SensorDAQ.
