Hi,
I have a NI-cDAQ 9184 (ethernet based) which shows up in NI-MAX under Device and Interfaces > Network Devices; however, when I try to create a global virtual channel (Data Neighborhood > Create New), I get an error message saying 'No supported devices found' when I get to the step of putting in physical channels. I am using NI-DAQmx 15.5; if anyone has any ideas for things I could try, I'd be grateful!
Thanks,
Ana

Ana,
You'll get this message when there are no modules compatible with that measurement type in the cDAQ chassis. Are the modules in the chassis and have you selected the appropriate measurement type when creating the channel?

Hi Wilbur,
Thanks for the response! I have two NI-9269 voltage modules installed in the chassis, and haven't found any documentation yet saying those modules aren't supported (in creating the virtual channel I've tried the following measurement types - acquire and generate voltage signals, which should be good?).
I'll try taking the modules out and putting them back in, see if that helps...
Thanks,
Ana

That device is an analog output module so they should show up under generate voltage signals. Did re-inserting the modules change anything? It might be helpful if you could provide a screenshot of your cDAQ in MAX.

Hi Wilbur,
Thanks for following up - it seems like everything is solved now! Two things had to happen - I had to 'reserve the chassis' (there was a red x on the NI cDAQ icon in NI Max that I didn't realize meant that it wasn't communicating with the device), and then when I did that, I could see the modules, but those also had red x's. Tried reinserting the modules with no effect. After rebooting the computer though, the red x's on the modules disappeared and I was able to run the test panels and the self-tests passed! Sorry, this probably doesn't make much sense without a visual, but am not at the computer with NI Max on it at the moment to get a screenshot.
However, in short everything is working! Reserving the chassis and rebooting the computer fixed the issue.
Thanks!
Ana
