Adding a footprint to group of components?

Solved!

Is there a way to add a footprint to a group of components other than (painfully) one at a time? For instance, I have a passive footprint used by an RF chip vendor that I'd like to have available for all resistors and capacitors.

Hi FromMars,

Can you please tell me which edition of Multisim you are currently having?(e.g Power Pro, Educational)

I'm using MS 11 Base, just updated yesterday to 11.02, with UB 11 Pro

Hi,

Unfortunatly you can't do them all at the same time.It can be done one by one.

BUT since you asked about version, is it possible in a different version?

Hi,

Yes it is possible to do so in the Power Pro version; in that version you have access to the spread sheet view of the components which allows you to select multiple components and edit their footprints all at the same time.

OK, that's another reason to upgrade - the spreadsheet view is so far the only thing I miss not having in MS Base.

As an alternative to adding to components in a design, is there a way to add to a group of components in the database (user or corporate)?

Hi,

I think the best way would be with the spreadsheet if you ever decided to switch to Power Pro edition. Unfortunately there is no shortcut for doing that in the database.
