Difficulty to find basic electric characteristics for list of components family

It is difficult to find basic electric characteristics for any list of transistor or any components When I design electronic circuit by Multisim Pro. I try to choose suitable component like transistor or any other components. There is only component type I mean family group of components like for example “Diodes” then smaller groups like “SCR” group and long list of component names. There is also detail report for any components but it’s not clear for me, difficult to understand, looks like very old reports, and not able to find all special electric characteristics for “SCR” even basic electric characteristics like Maximum and minimum operating voltage or maximum and minimum running currents or maximum and minimum operating frequency ……….etc.

Then; if I search in the internet to find datasheets for any list of components. I need to download all part names and numbers. So there is different manufacturer and for each manufacturer have different datasheets. Some datasheet are long and some are short and some are easy to understand and some are not easy to understand. Not only has this problem if had to download 50 different components for different families group and for different manufacturers. So you should find 50 datasheets which is “diodes”, which is “transistors”, which part number, which……etc. So it’s very difficult to download all lists of all families and groups and compare it to each other.

It’s really a miss and waste of time. It takes me week after weeks and no one design finish till now.

You know your components very well.

so what I want only one excel file for any family group for example Diodes excel file and one sheet smaller group like "SCR" because each group of smaller families shear same electric characteristics. I need to see all components of smallest families side by side at the same page. You should start with part names then basic electric characteristics like Max-Min Volt, Max-Min Current, Max-Min Frequency…..etc.

If I see all list of smallest family group of components for example “SCR” I can choose suitable one immediately. Farther more in excel you can sort all components for any value (ascending or descending) and do immediate decision.

You having great simulating and design program but I need each components families in one excel file.

So I need all components database families for Multisim Pro as soon as possible.

If you don’t want excel file you can make it as separate program or add this function to Multisim Pro but don’t forget make it (ascending or descending) for any value.

I need it badly anyhow.

Hello Almustadi,

This kind of post would be better to post this recommendation  on the Idea Exchange for Multisim, where R&D looks at the feedback that is given, and takes it into consideration for a possible implementation in a future version of the software.

Unfortunately we do not have a file like the one you want at the moment, so we don't have a direct solution for this at the moment.

This is a nice idea from the OP. But, given the ever increasing number of electronic components, it might not be easy, to say the least, to compile such tables. 

Some manufactures have product selection tables/guides etc on their website for some product families, allowing to sort their components according to given criteria. Of course, these selection guides are always limited to the product range of one manufacturer. Also, many distributors, such as DigiKey or RS, have product selection features on their websites, these, of course, contain data for components of several manufacturers.
