Hello,
I'm have trouble understanding why my seconds counter flickers to some nonnumber in between the counter. For instance, as the counter increments from 12 to 13, it flickers for a moment before reaching 13.
Why does this happen and what can I do to fix it? I have also attached the file.

Hello msin
I was seeing your circuit and I am wondering if you can use the 74LS161 4 bit counter.

David,
I could, but I'm using the 4518 because those are the counters I'm using for my lab. I actually managed to breadboard the clock (hours:minutes:seconds) in lab today. The clock did not have the flickering shown in the simulation.

Hello msin
Actually that behavior is pretty weird, could you see that behavior using the real components?
Regarding with a similar configuration I attached a video that shows something similar using the 74LS161.

I made this circuit in before in one forum too. http://forums.ni.com/t5/Multisim-and-Ultiboard/multisim/td-p/3226864/page/2
If you can not see that behavior in the real components avoid that in the simulation because may that is a behavior that was corrected with the new version or in the next versions.
