hey david..ive incorporated a rectifier in the circuit...but it seems that the circuit is working indepent of it...:/
could u jst give me sme help...
and show me how to insert a pause and reset button on it...thx

Actually that rectifier is going to be our power source, right? We just need to connect that in our digital circuit as a power supply. Regarding with the pause and reset I recommend you that you can use the counter datasheet. I was thinking you can stop the clock just to pause the count and if you need to reset you just need to look for that capability in the counter (the counter has that input you just need to design something maybe with one AND or MUX). You just need to play with the circuit that I made to you feel free to change or add components I know that you can do it.
