Heart rate indicator

Hi all.

I am working on ECG project for my thesis . the purpose of my thesis is to implement a hardware that detects the electrical impulses of the human heart . I have implemented the hardware and it works . I am using labview to acquire the ECG signal via a serial port . now usng labview i was able to detect and display the ECG signal on a graph .

Well i need to go further with the project and i would like to implement a heart rate indicator to show how many beats the heart does .

can you guys suggest any sample for this purpose ?
