cRIO with USB ethernet

I have been trying to give my cRIO-9045 a third network port (because of the weird network situation that I am deploying it into.  I require one DHCP port on the corporate network, one static subnet and a TSN network.  This third connection will need to basically behave as a normal network port and be persistent across reboots.

I have been following some of the things discussed, here, here and here

I have tried modifying my ifplugged script(twice, once I had to reset the cRIO) But I just put a ifconfig in there and I do not feel that is right.

The cRIO sees the usb adapter (I am using a USB C adapter).

It recognizes it as a valid network device.

I modified the nirtcfg (horrible interface btw) with the hope that it would assign the correct IP to the device.

The restart did not do it either.

Anything I am missing?  Hope that someone has done this before.

Thanks.
