How to configure TS to execute with Labview-RunTime

Hello,

currently i have TestStand 2014 and LabVIEW 2015 installed in Windows 7.

When i click in TestStand on Configure + Adapter + Labview then there is "[x] Labview Run-Time Engine" selected and in teh dropdpwn Version 15.0 (2015).

Now i want to uninstall Labview 2015 and use only the Labview-RunTime in Teststand (which is already selected).

Do i only have to go to uninstall programs + select Nation Instruments Software + select NI Labview 2015 + uninstall selected? And thats it?

Or do i have to check something else?

I think i have to perhaps to install the LV Runtime manually again as it does not appear in the uninstall list?

Thx

Hello,

If you uninstall LabVIEW, the Run-Time remains installed, so any other action should be needed.

But don't worry if run-time will be also unistalled - as you have noticed you can just install it again and everything should be OK 🙂

I uninstalled Labview and then the Labview teststeps did not run any more.

I had to manually install Labview-Runtime and everything worked again.

So it seems as the Runtime is included in the full labview installation (and not separate listed).

And after uninstalling full installation also the Runtime was not available any more.

Your summary is correct. Each National Instruments installer maintains a list of dependencies and the dependecies are typically reference counted. If an installer such as the LabVIEW ADE was the only product that has a direct dependency on its Runtime, the Runtime will be uninstalled when the LabVIEW ADE is uninstalled.
