Old .seq file is "not a sequence file"

I have been tasked with fixing some test files circa 2007.  I have installed TestStand 4.5.1, the oldest version I have. The files will not open, error "not a sequence file".

The TS conversion tool identifies these as type "ini", but they won't convert to binary. "Not a sequence file". I have attached one of the files. Is there a way for me to convert/open/uncorrupt these files?

Based on my 10-minute limited search, you definitely need the original or closely compatible TestStand to save the binary format in XML. Afterward, any new version can be easily upgraded.

Hi,

New versions of TestStand do support opening sequence files saved in TS 2.0 and later. But after looking at the attached file in notepad, I do not think this a TestStand sequence file. It looks like data from serialized LabVIEW typedef instance.

But it could be a file that was saved by the LabVIEW test executive toolkit, but I do not think those files has a .seq extension.

Can you try to use the tools described in this KB -Archived: Convert LabVIEW or LabWindows™/CVI™ Test Executive Toolkit Sequence to a TestStand Sequenc...
