TestStand 64 bits feebacks ....

Hello,

Has some one any feedbacks about using TestStand 64 bits.

Before installing this version, i would like to have your opinion.

I would like to have your opinion about ...

  • Is it easy to use ? (As the TestStand 32 bits) ?
    • Is the 64 bits usage transparent ?
  • How is it about User interfaces ?
    • Is there examples in LabVIEW 64 bits ? DotNet 64 bits ?
  • How is it about custom steps ?

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

Hi

Please visit this thread.

http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-TestStand/SSH-and-64-bit-Teststand/m-p/2976739#M46530

There are some very useful comments from doug

At the moment i am working with TS2014 32bit since autuom last year.

 - no problems !
32bit because most of my native dll where compiled as 32bit so they will not work with 64bit.

Hi,

Few things about 64 bit TestStand :

1) TestStand 64 bit usage/GUI is same as with TestStand 32  bit. From an usage perspective there is no difference.

2) User Interface - As in 32 bit there are examples for 64 bit UI also supporting LV64,CVI,C# and C++

3) Custom types - its no different then in 32 bit.

For 64 bit TS you need to use 64 bit DLLs.

So ensure that all the drivers that you have support 64 bitness.

Hope this helps.

Ravi
