Justin,

All the TestStand API documentation is available in the API Reference book of the NI TestStand Help

You can access the NI TestStand Help in the following ways:
• Select Help>>NI TestStand Help in the sequence editor.
• (Windows 8.) Click the NI Launcher tile on the Start screen and select TestStand>>Documentation>>TestStand Help.
• (Windows 7 or earlier) Select Start>>All Programs>>National Instruments>>TestStand>>Documentation>>TestStand Help.

The NI TestStand Help is also available on ni.com: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370052M-01/

Please let me know if you need more information or have any other questions.

Thanks,

Callie Jones

Dear Callie Jones,

Thank you very much for your answer.

I was wondering whether there is a "pdf" file that contains all the details (with hyperlinks) related to the TestStand API.

I am interesting in downloading at once the entire book so that I can go through it page after page.

With hope that my request is clear, thank you again for your help.

No, National Instruments does not provide a PDF of the API reference material.

You can complete the following steps to generate a PDF of the help topics.

  1. Launch the help from TestStand.
  2. Right-click the table of contents book you want to print.
  3. Select Print from the context menu.
  4. Enable the Print the selected heading and all subtopics option.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Direct the file to a PDF printer to create a static PDF of the help topics without links.

This process might take awhile because the API Reference Help book and the UI Controls API Reference Help book are quite large, with thousands of topics.

Sincerely,

talking to Callie, I dont understand why the TestStand Reference Manual isn't present now.

The reference manual is not an API reference but is the main TS manual that till TS2010 was present in the released documentation.

This was the documentation set (pdf) with TS2010 (SP1):

TestStandAPIReferencePoster.pdf
TestStandReferenceManual.pdf
TestStandReleaseNotes.pdf
TestStandSystemandArchitectureOverviewCard.pdf
TestStandUIControlsReferencePoster.pdf
UsingLabVIEWLabWindowsCVIwithTestStand.pdf
UsingTestStand.pdf

Now with TS2014 the doc set (pdf) is:

GettingStartedWithTestStand.pdf
TestStandAPIReferencePoster.pdf
TestStandReleaseNotes.pdf
TestStandSystemandArchitectureOverviewCard.pdf
TestStandUIControlsReferencePoster.pdf

Sincerely I agree to avoid to print manuals, but I strongly disagree with the choice of not providing them at all.

Luigi,

Thank you for your feedback.

The content of the previous TestStand Reference Manual PDF is now all contained in the Fundamentals and the Extending TestStand books of the NI TestStand Help. No significant information was removed from the product. The value of this change is that now, from the TestStand environment, you can search the majority of the TestStand documentation in one format.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need more information.

Thanks,

Callie Jones
