Can the PXI 8881 controller install Linux RT and win10 at the same time?

Currently, my PXI 8881 is installed on Linux RT and I want to install another win10 system.

Can two systems coexist? If so, how do I install Win10?

I need to format the disk when installing the system, does this mean that the original Linux RT system is gone?

By 'format the disk', yes, whatever was already on the disk is gone, if you previously had Linux RT system, then you format and install Win10. High chances that you lost Linux installation unless they are on different partitions.

Officially not supported (Dual-Boot Windows 10 and Real Time Operating Systems on NI PXIe Controllers), but technically possible. I had done that in the past. Use it at your own risk.

1. First install Linux RT using the provisional tool as it does not allow you to choose a partition but wipe out the entire disk.

2. Use  GParted to Create and Resize the biggest partition for Win10 installation. I don't remember the detailed instructions for this step. You might want to try and error out.

3. Install Win10 on the shrunk and unallocated space.
