I am trying to run the ni DMM example program Measure DC Volts with an NI-4071DMM in a PXI chassis. I cannot get past the call to niDMM_init. The call fails with "An error was returned by one of the internal function calls." and the instrument handle is NULL. The only way I can get past this issue is to run my executable with administrator permission by using the windows option to "run as an administrator". I cannot run my final applicaiton as an administrator, I need it to work as a normal user. I have tried reinstalling all NI SW and a fresh install of the SW on an diffrent PC and get the same result. Does anyone know what the driver could be tring to access that only works when it run as an administrator?
