How to open DAQmx Initialize External Calibration VI ( noob question )

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi !

I am trying to do an external calibration of PXIe 4353 with a Martel PTC-8010 thermocouple calibrator.

The calibrator inputs a voltage ,based on the temperature set in it, to the PXIe and I am able to verify the same readings with some tolerances (±  .5 º C) in NI MAX. I am unable to find out where the calibration VI is located or how to open a calibration session from NI MAX.

I am, however, able to open a calibration session by creating a new task from the data neighborhood in NI MAX and am able to calibrate individual channels using the channel calibration wizard that opens when I click calibrate.

I am not sure if the  DAQmx Initialize External Calibration VI is shown only if CAL-4353 is plugged in ( we do not have that accessory ).

I would be grateful if someone points me in the right direction and let me know if the external calibration of PXIe 4353 can be done with just the thermocouple calibrator and how to locate and open the DAQmx Initialize External Calibration VI.

Thanks !
