I have several PXIe-8840 controllers that I'm reprovisioning from PharLap to Linux RT. My software programmatically obtains the serial number of the RT controller for device tracking purposes. However, I ran into a little snag. After reprovisioning to Linux RT, the serial number of the RT controller shows up as 00000000 in MAX (and therefore also with my logic for tracking it).
Does anyone have ideas on how to resolve this? For example, is there a file somewhere on the controller that contains the serial number and that can be manually edited after reprovisioning to Linux RT?

Hi Nathan,
What you're seeing is expected behavior for the 8840 Dual Core. It's an older controller and the serial number isn't actually programmed into the BIOS like newer controllers. What you saw in Phar Lap is actually part of the MAC address, which you should still be able to find on the controller with LinuxRT installed.
