Self Calibrate schedule

When is it necessary to perform a Self Calibrate?  Should it be performed at regular time intervals?  PXIe-5830.

When a self calibrate is disregarded what are the effects on the PXIe-5830 or similar hardware.

Self calibrate outputs a "Cal-Date" of each item, Gain, LO Self Cal, Amplitude Accuracy, Residual LO Power, Image Suppression and Synthesizer Alignment.  In other words, knowing the last cal-date at what interval should calibration be performed.

I counted 18 instances of  the term "self-calibration" and "temperature" either preceding or subsiding the former search term in the PXIe-5830 specifications.  All the specs are valid when self-calibration procedure performed.

You would need to perform self-calibration whenever the onboard temperature deviates 5 degC from the last self-cal temperature. To make things simple, you could do this before every critical measurement execution probably every day or every shift.

As per the specification conditions, if your instrument temperature is maintained within 5 degC you can even use the instrument for a full year to match the next calibration cycle due.
