FIFO with cRIO-9074

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello all, I recently ran into a problem with configuring a FIFO with the cRIO-9074 FPGA target. My previous experience was that under "Interfaces" one could specify how many elements to be read/written. There is no such option for cRIO-9074. Is that caused by the specifics of the particular FPGA in that chassis? I tried creating a FIFO with cRIO-9066 and sure enough, the option to specify number of elements is there! I was unable to find a detailed documentation regarding the FPGA in 9074, just a generic 9074 manual on how to install it.

The Number Of Elements Per Write option is not supported by all FPGA hardware . Reference: How to Write Multiple Data Elements to a FIFO Write?

If you can't configure it, it simply means that cRIO does not support it.

Thank you, I kind of suspected that much, but there isn't a definitive document I could find. I did read the article you linked to, which also refers to itself regarding multi-element FIFO support. I wonder where can I refer to "your hardware's documentation to more information"

Sorry I don't have idea either. From my experience, most recent controllers like 903x, 904x and 905x all support it.
