sbRIO-9651 eth1 nondefault PHY

sbRIO-9651 supports secondary ethernet port eth1 via external PHY usage which is KSZ9031MNXIA. Is it possible to use another 1GBE PHY, DP83867 for example with MDI register access on Linux RT level? Can uboot and/or linux RT drivers be modified to do so?

I want to use another PHY which supports PTP (IEEE 1588) on a HW level, default PHY doesn't.

I haven't found an example of another person doing this. What are you trying to synchronize with the sbRIO via PTP?
