updated real time software

I'm just begining with LabVIEW and NI instrumentation. I recently updated the real time software on my NI 9074 controller. The exe program, which was created using labview 2009, will no longer communicate with the controller. I understand they are different versions now, I just don't know how to fix it.

I'm sure it is easy I just haven't been able to figure it out through searching. If it makes a difference the computer the .exe is on runs windows XP.

Can you clarify what you mean when you say that they are different versions now?

Also, are you able to see the device in NI MAX?
How are your computer and your cRIO 9074 connected?
