turning off my usrp crashes my pc

I have an USRP X310 connected to an HP Z420 running labview 2015 in windows 7 over a PCIe link. When I turn off the USRP the PC crashes. How do I stop this? I have to cycle power on the USRP everytime I burn a new image to the flash memory. It's a major pain having to shut down my pc everytime I want to burn a new image.

Hi apchar_,

The PCIe link can cause some weird behavior. Restarting the USRP while the computer is similar to pulling a PCIe card out of the computer and plugging it back in while the PC is running. Generally, I find that closing out LabVIEW helps prevents crashes when restarting the USRP, but honestly, it largely depends on the computer being used.

LabVIEW FPGA programs the FPGA of the X310 directly, as does not use the FPGA image stored in Flash. When using LabVIEW FPGA, you do not have to burn the image to Flash first.

When I try to use labview fpga to burn the fpga I get a communication error as I mentioned in an earlier post:

An error was detected in the communication between the host computer and the FPGA target.

If you are using any external clocks, make sure they are connected and within the supported specifications. Also, verify that the rate of any external clocks match the specified clock rates. If you are generating your clocks internally, please contact National Instruments Technical Support.

So burning to flash and cycling power is my only option. Closing labview first didnt help.
