usage of GNU radio in signal capturing using USRP

Hi ,

I am completely new to this topic. So I have some basic doubts .

I am using a signal generator to generate a radio standard(LTE) and the signals are recorded using the USRP N310.

Also a GNU Radio is used .

I know that GNU Radio is a open source software development toolkit that provide signal processing blocks to implement software radios.

My question :
1.Is Gnu Radio a software to build the blocks to capture the signals in usrp or does it have any other function too.

2.Is labview and Gnu radio has the same purpose.

As I understood you are using GNU Radio. Are you thinking of using LabVIEW instead ?
