Hi,
I have a strange error message that showed up on our VXI chassis 1261B showing up as the front panel status message when we were installing an VXI extender card. The status message says "SFAIL LOW", which does not map to any messasge defined in the 1261B user manual (Table 4-9). The status message went away later on as we took out the card to spray clean the connectors both on the extender card and also inside of the VXI chassis. Anyhow, I am puzzling why "SFAIL LOW" showed up and what "SFAIL LOW" mean.
Has anyone seem something similar before? Any explaination?
Thanks.

Hi Peggy,
Seems odd. Maybe it is just a shortening of SYSFAIL? Maybe SFAIL LOW means that the SYSFAIL line is low. If you see this error again you might want to try querying that line using the MEAS:VXI:SYSFAIL? command. It might be a Self Test Fail also, could be worth investigating that further.
Cheers,

Sorry about the smiley face. It is supposed to be a colon then an S. : S changes to :S when they are next to each other.
