Compass with tilt correction

Hi I needed help making a compass with tilt correction. So far I have a general understanding of how the program works and have programmed the labview so that the readings are displayed in guass. I understand that when the compass is parallel to the ground and the x axis has the maximum value the x axis is pointing towards true north. I have to still convert the measurements to degrees and add the declination angle so that the compass is displaying true north instead of magnetic north. I also do have to add tilt correction, which I don't have much understanding of.

This seems like a conceptual problem, not a programming issue. How does it relate to academic hardware products (since you posted here)?

To get help, tell us about your hardware and sensors. How do you get the raw measurements? How does your program look like?

Hi I'm sorry but it was my first time posting a question here. I am using a  NI myRIO Mechatronics Kit compass. I don't have the most recent software because it is on my school computer but a version of the software is attached(this isn't converted to guass) .
