Hey Trey0249,

 

Take a look at this link, http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/49A8EC95510360F586257B09005B7AB1?OpenDocument. It is unlikely this is the issue since it appears you might be able to communicate with your myDAQ. This issue could be related to your USB controller manufacturer. Also, are you able to see and interface with your device in NI-MAX?

Hi hfar2,

 

Unfortunately the link you posted, again didn't work for me. I did try to do a bit of work on my own to ensure the NI myDAQ is communicating with the computer. I found this page; http://www.ni.com/tutorial/12964/en/#toc1

 

I then tried the two steps mentioned. The test in the first step completed successfully however the oscilloscope software wouldn't open for the second step. It froze with the same loading bar as the Digital Multimeter...

I should have also mentioned, I will be taking the myDAQ to class this Thursday. Then we should be able to eliminate the myDAQ hardware from the "equation". It really seems like a software issue. I wish I could simply try an older version. Not ruling out the fact that my computer could be the problem however, it is no cheap computer and I would like to believe it is adequate.

Sorry the links I keep posting arent working. I am not sure why that is happening. To clarify, you are able to self test your NI myDAQ and open a test panel for the device in NI-MAX succesfully incldung when you click start in the test panel?

Correct, from NI MAX I ran the self test. It said the test completed successfully.

Have you tried to see if you can access the Elvis virtual instruments in LabVIEW or Multisim? If you refer to the following link it should show you how to do this.

That link acctually worked. 🙂  This is the message recieved when trying to use Multisim. It looks as if there is a mixture of programs installed. Some older 14 versions and some 15. I wonder if this is causing issues? Then again, that is exactly what is on the install disk.

Have you confirmed that the computers which your myDAQ works on have the same versions of all drivers and software installed that your computer does? Also, only the most current up to date drivers and software are compatible with a Windows 10 operating system.

Piazza,

 

I am at school today and viewing their programs, all of them are older than mine. The school has Windows 7 with Lab View 14 and Multisim 13. I had Windows 7, recently upgraded to Windows 10, with Lab View 15 and Multism 14. Another note is that the particular part of the software I am interested in, the Digital Multimeter (DMM) will open, at school without even plugging the MyDaq into the computer. My computer, with or without plugging the MyDaq in the program only displays a loading bar. Besides my software being newer additions, it is also a student edition.  I took a picture of all the drivers and will cross reference with mine once I'm home.

Hfar2 and Piazza,

 

Thanks for all the comments. My professor and I sat down to fix this and found a solution that will work for me. Running the compaitibility troubleshooter and reverting to Windows XP service pack 3 worked. Windows Vista, 7, and 8, however still did not work.
