myRIO don't works

Hello, I bought myRIO product last week. After installation of LabView 2013 with all modules(DVD 1 and 2), then I connected myRIO to my computer. The USB was recognized, but when I click Launch Getting Started Wizard, the software stop completely. My OS is Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.I don't know what to do.

After installation, NI sent a e-mail saying that my LabView was installed with sucess and the activation was completed, but I can't run the myRIO in my PC. The accelerometer test don't works.

Someone know how solve this?

Now the myRIO says that:

Error -65563 occurred at Find RT Targets By PID.vi

This error code is undefined. Undefined errors might occur for a number of reasons. For example, no one has provided a description for the code, or you might have wired a number that is not an error code to the error code input.

Additionally, undefined error codes might occur because the error relates to a third-party object, such as the operating system or ActiveX. For these third-party errors, you might be able to obtain a description of the error by searching the Web for the error code (-65563) or for its hexadecimal representation (0xFFFEFFE5).

Can I do something to solve this?

There are a couple of things I can think of:

Do you run any third party firewall software that would block the communication? (remember, even the connection over USB is via TCP/IP)

Open NI-Max, LabVIEW, etc. and OK any popups that request network access. Does NI-Max recognize the myRIO?

Also open the NI update manager and do all critical updates and patches.

Good luck.

Can you also please post a Max Techincal Report (instructions here).  This will allow us to see the NI software that you have installed so we can make sure you're not missing a piece of software.

Thanks!

Hello altenbach,

I did all the critical updates and patches, but still does not work. Furthermore, NI-MAX recognizes myRIO.

Thanks,

I had the same problem as the OP and Joy_Man: Error -65563 occurred at Find RT Targets By PID.vi. I'm running Windows 8.1 64-bit.

In my case, there seem to have been two problems: (1) the myRIO not being recognised as expected over the USB; (2) the LabVIEW Real-Time software installation on the myRIO being faulty.

I tried various approaches suggested elsewhere - e.g. trying the other USB slots, disabling the firewall, etc. - but had no success. Then had some suggestions from NI technical support (thanks Ian) and after some playing around, I have managed to get to the point that I can deploy projects successfully to the myRIO.

To be clear, I still see the 65563 error on clicking the Lanuch the Getting Started Wizard. But, I have worked through the example tutorials in LabView (which cover the same ground as the Getting Started Wizard) and deployed the projects to the myRIO.

Here are the steps to get past the two problems I noted earlier:

(1) Check that the NI Configuration Manager is running. (In Windows 😎 go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services . Find the NI Configuration Manager entry. If it is not shown as Running, right-click on it and select Start.

(2) Connect up the myRIO. When the start menu opens, click Configure NI myRIO. A browser window opens. Make a note of the IP address that is shown under Systems Settings.

(3) Open NI MAX. Remote Systems should appear in the configuration tree. If there is no entry for myRIO under it, right-click Remote Systems and select Create New... . In the window tha appears, select Remote Device (not on the local subnet). Click Next. In the next window, enter the IP address you recorded earlier. Click Finish. An entry for the myRIO should now appear under Remote Systems.

(4) If the status light of the myRIO is flashing (mine was giving a double "heartbeat"), this may indicate a problem with the software installation. In the NI MAX configuration tree, find the Software entry under Remote Systems > NI-myRIO-19... . RIght-click on it and select Add/Remove Software. In the Log In pop-up window, leave Password blank and click OK. In the software wizard that appears, select the latest NI myRIO Real-Time software version that is shown, and then follow the wizard to reinstall it. Once installed, the myRIO status light should no longer flash after initial start-up.

(5) Open LabVIEW. From the Set-up and Explore pop-up, click Access Getting Started Tutorials. Part 1 sees the creation of a myRIO project. On the project configuration step, the tutorial shows the Select Target option defaulted to Plugged into USB. Assuming the myRIO does not appear alongside as an entry, select the Specific IP Address or Hostname option and enter the IP address recorded earlier. You should now be able to follow the remaining tutorials to create and deploy projects to the myRIO.

I'm a complete newbie at this and would welcome any suggestions on better ways to fix the problems.
