Provide diagnostic information on self test of Timing and Sync modules

It would be nice to provide a way to get diagnostic information regarding any potential HW issues that may be apparent with the Timing and Sync modules. Currently the only method for getting diagnostic information is through the use of the LEDs (active LED, and Access LED), or through external connections to other measurement equipment. The addition of this feature will better assist troubleshooting defective timing modules.

Hi,

I'd like to know in more detail what kind of hardware diagnostics information you are looking for.  The LEDs are indicating status of 1588, GPS, and network connections, but not necessarily state of the hardware, which is challenging to figure out without deeper troubleshooting.  Are you looking for a way to programmatically interpret those LED states as listed in the user manual, or something beyond this?  Can you provide additional examples of what you'd expect to be returned from a self-test call?
