My car was hit and no note was left. Does anyone want to take one for the team, and allow this grey cloud to transfer away from me? They say you make your own luck...I must be doing something drastically wrong!

In moments like this I see how much honesty (and all personal values) is cultural. In my lovely country notes are left only by people who are really conscious and polite.

One time, a doctor hit my mom's car at the parking lot in this hospital. He left a note with all his information and said that he left the scene because he was in a hurry. So we called him and he paid all the debts, and said that if we wanted, he could ask someone to take us to anywhere we needed, in case that we didn't have a spare car (we did have). This reaction was so surprising, because here people just don't seem to care about the others, specially if it involves money or material stuff.

You know, this can be bad luck... Better will come.

"Typical Race Condition", do you mean like the one that occurred this weekend at the NASCAR race in Talladega, where cars ended up "parked" on top of other cars?

Sorry that your car was hit, and that the perpetrator left the scene. Of course it this person had the experience I had, where I slid on ice in the parking lot of a former work place and hit a coworker's car. I reported it to the plant security, who could determine who's car it was. They (security) didn't want to fill out an accident report and the local police didn't want to be bothered, particularly as it was on private property. The car's owner took my insurance information and contacted an office of my insurance carrier. I had called my agent's office and made a report, but apparently, due to the high number of accidents (in winter here, with an average seasonal snow fall of nearly 4m of snow this is to be expected), they weren't timely in entering it into the insurance company's system. So the home office of the insurance company sends me a letter that they are canceling my insurance because I didn't file a police report, nor report it to the insurance company. I did get it straightened out, but it caused a bit of stress while I was.

Car or CAR?  Damn, I love it when my CAR gets hit!  Did you go through the "ReadMe" file?  Maybe that's what you did wrong.
